My name is Shannon Ketchum. I am the founder of Embrace Bravery. I am a wife, daughter, fur mom, sister, introvert, and most importantly I am in love with Jesus. I am passionate for women to break free from brokenness and experience Jesus in a whole new way, like never before.
MARRIAGE & INFERTILITY
I have been married for 14 years to my love, Carl. We met working at Publix, while I was his boss! 🙂 He is the best provider and support that I could ever ask for! We’ve been struggling with infertility for the full extent of our marriage – from pelvic muscle spasms, to endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome. It has been a long road for us, and we’re continuing to trust the Lord for our family! Infertility has been the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced in my life. It is my hope that we as women can come together and support each other in this exhausting journey.
MY FUR BABIES
I have four fur-babies, three dogs and one cat. Dogs: Jackson (4 years old) – pitbull mix (my baby), Reno (6 years old) – pomeranian and Harper Grace (1-1/2 years old) – she’s a mix of blue tick coonhound, lab & border collie. Cat: Oliver (3 years old) – tuxedo tabby. My fur babies are like my children. I love each and every one of them! I definitely have a full house!
I am a true introvert. My idea of a good day is being at home by myself. I am not a fan of public speaking and large groups. If it was my choice I would sit alone in my bubble all day long. 🙂 However, this is something the Lord is growing me in, I choose not to let being an introvert define me, but just build on my personality and character.
WORK & MINISTRY
I have had the extreme pleasure of working for my church, Victory World Church in Norcross, GA for the last 9 years. I work in the Experience department, aka marketing. I started out as the admin assistant, got promoted to communications manager and for the last 4 years I have been one of the project managers. I love my job! It’s been the perfect fit for me, as I love details and one of my spiritual gifts is administrative. I love being able to see all the creative things that my team does!
For four years I was a small group leader in the Fusion Young Adult Ministry. I then felt the call to mentoring adult women, so I because an adult women’s small group leader. Our group is FWM – Fearfully, Wonderfully Made. I have been leading this group of amazing women for about 7 years. I love small groups, they’re such an amazing way to connect with others. Two and a half years ago, I began leading a 7th grade girls small group in our youth ministry. It was such an awesome experience, getting to dig into the lives of young women. I just retired from that ministry, as the Lord has called me into something that my heart beats for – infertility support. So this is the beginning of that journey.
